Digital ID issuance & lifecycle
Application intake, identity review, credential issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation workflows for the full identity lifecycle.
Digital Identity
A digital identity capability set for governments, public institutions, and regulated businesses: official digital ID issuance, electronic signatures, credential cards with secure card personalisation, and developer-ready identity APIs.
What is a Digital ID
A digital ID is issued after identity verification and gives the holder a trusted digital identity and a legally meaningful electronic signature. It is typically used by digital residency programs, government e-services, and regulated businesses to let international entrepreneurs, IT professionals, investors, freelancers, and cross-border companies interact with services online. A digital ID of this kind is not citizenship, permanent residency, or a residence permit — it is an official digital identity credential.
What Vellfi provides
Vellfi provides the Digital ID System as a technology and operations capability set: identity issuance and lifecycle workflows, electronic signature infrastructure, credential card products including card design and printing coordination, verification workflows, and APIs. Program scope, legal framework, and data responsibilities are defined by the operating authority and the customer agreement.
System & products
Capability availability depends on program scope, technical requirements, customer eligibility, and applicable agreements.
Application intake, identity review, credential issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation workflows for the full identity lifecycle.
PKI-based electronic signatures so holders can sign documents remotely with verifiable, legally meaningful signatures under the program's legal framework.
Document, biometric-capable, and risk-based verification steps at application and re-verification, coordinated with Vellfi eKYC capabilities.
Let banks, payment institutions, and financial services rely on the digital ID during their own KYC and onboarding processes.
Workflow support that lets verified holders remotely register and administer companies where the operating framework allows it.
Integration interfaces towards tax systems, registries, and public e-services operated by the program authority.
Connection points for accounting, legal, corporate services, and payment or banking partners in the program ecosystem.
Web and mobile-friendly holder experience for credential access, signing, status, and renewals.
Credential cards
The Digital ID System supports credential card products end to end — from card face design to secure personalisation — so a program can offer holders a tangible, verifiable credential alongside the digital identity.
Card production, personalisation, and delivery are coordinated through controlled processes and vetted production partners. Key material is generated and protected in secure environments, and the physical credential remains bound to the same lifecycle status as the digital identity — a revoked digital ID invalidates its card.
Standards & security
The system is designed with reference to widely adopted international standards and security practice. Formal certification status, where relevant, is confirmed in writing per engagement.
Certificate-based identity and signatures built on public key infrastructure with X.509 certificates.
Identity assurance levels designed with reference to eIDAS assurance concepts and NIST SP 800-63 guidelines.
Security management processes aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 information security practice.
Strong, phishing-resistant holder authentication options for portal and API access.
Signing and issuance keys generated and stored in hardware security modules.
Encryption in transit and at rest, with data minimisation and privacy-by-design principles.
Tamper-evident audit trails for issuance, verification, signing, and lifecycle events.
Operational monitoring, incident response processes, and recovery planning for program continuity.
APIs
Developer-ready interfaces let government platforms, banks, and business service providers build on the digital ID.
Verify a holder's digital ID and retrieve assurance-level and status information during onboarding or login.
Request, apply, and validate electronic signatures on documents and transactions.
Programmatic issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation for authorised program operators.
Real-time credential status checks and event notifications for relying parties.
Structured attestations that financial institutions can consume in their own KYC workflows.
Test environment, API documentation, and integration support for ecosystem partners.
Program model
Digital identity and digital residency-style programs work best when the operating authority keeps legal and supervisory control while a technology partner builds and runs the platform.

Where Vellfi can contribute:
A well-run program can attract international entrepreneurs and companies without requiring physical relocation, and can generate sustainable revenue through application fees, renewals, signature services, company registration and maintenance, and ecosystem services — while supporting local banking, fintech, IT, legal, and accounting sectors and strengthening the program operator's international digital profile.
